Why your employer is asking for this
When you sign an agreement like this you normally give up the right to bring a claim against your employer later, for example to the Workplace Relations Commission. For that waiver to hold, you need to have had advice from a solicitor who is independent of your employer. That is why many employers ask for it and cover the fee.
How it works
- Send us the agreement. Email it to us or upload it with the form below.
- Video call with a solicitor. We go through the terms with you, explain what you are giving up and check that you were fairly selected.
- Sign online. You sign the agreement through Docusign and we witness it.
- Confirmation letter. We send the letter confirming you received independent legal advice, so your employer can release the payment.
If something does not look right
Sometimes the offer is lower than it should be, or the selection for redundancy was not fair. If we see a problem we will tell you on the call and explain your options before you sign anything.
For employers and HR
If you are making staff redundant and need a solicitor to give your employees independent advice, we can handle this for one person or a whole team, with a quick turnaround and a confirmation letter for each employee.
