Shane Walsh and the Litigation team at Anthony Joyce & Co Solicitors, recently successfully obtained significant compensation for a client who suffered significant personal injuries, loss and damage as a result of an accident at work.
In summary, our client was by the foreman on the Construction site to assist in bringing lorries into the site. Our client was required to walk in the lorries in order to safely deliver products to the Construction site. As our client walked in a lorry, he was struck on his right hand side by a passing car which failed to stop at the scene. As a result of the incident, our client sustained significant injuries to his right hip and torn ligaments in his left knee.
Our client was not qualified to work in traffic management and subsequent investigations conducted by Anthony Joyce & Co Solicitors confirmed that our client’s employer failed to provide a safe place and system of work by not providing our client with appropriate training and setting up adequate traffic management systems near the site.
The matter was submitted with the Injuries Resolution Board (formerly the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB)) and the matter was released as our client’s employer denied liability for the accident. Circuit Court proceedings were subsequently issued and a settlement was ultimately reached without our client having to give evidence in Court.
